No Captcha

Well with the amount of Bots globally on the internet getting to an alarming figure I think it’s time the forum guides itself with a more solid Captcha process.

This can actually help with limiting the influx of bots into the forum

Re: No Captcha

Almost every Forum I have has captcha although captcha can be very annoying where trying to solve it, it's a good line of defense for any Forum against the flooding of Bot, and yes I don't think I saw any captcha when registering.

Re: No Captcha

Well since there is not captcha the forum has still been functioning fine, I know yes the captcha has its own benefits but now it's not pressing demand and I think the developers are focusing on more important features.

Re: No Captcha

Maybe the developers want for traffic first before the implement any captcha in the registration process for the Utopia uTalk. I also hate some captcha they make things difficult I kind of try to bypass them.

Re: No Captcha

I registered today and I didn't experience such thing as captcha, although it made it stress free for me I don't mind the inclusion of a captcha because in the bigger picture it can protect everyone of us in this group.

Well the captcha is meant to prevent the storming of bots in a forum, but as things are now there aren't much activity of such so may be in the future.

I think some bot has now found a way to also bypass the captcha test now, so even captcha isn't a necessity right now, I actually see it as waste of time and it could be also frustrating for new comers.

Re: No Captcha

Having a captcha attachment here is asking for the very unnecessary things now. If you can be honest there are many other things the team has to direct their focus to that is bigger than that.

Re: No Captcha

Guys can we stop the issue about captcha I don’t think we can tell the forum on what to do all the time, they have everything under control let’s just trust their own opinion on things

Re: No Captcha

If the captcha happens I would not be too unhappy about it because the essence of the captcha in the first place is to prevent the infestation of bot here

Re: No Captcha

I expect the mods understand the need for Captcha on the forum and how it would help prevent bots from spamming the whole place. There can also be a captcha bypass after registration so one does not have to deal with it everytime they logged in.

Suggestions are welcome in my opinion. The team would decide what to consider and what to ignore.

Exactly,
In every organization,  there's always room for suggestions.
Unless it's a dictator zone.
Suggestions bring about growth and development.
Besides,  the first goal of a business or company is growth and development.

Re: No Captcha

If there can be a test run of a captcha system we would be able to decide if we actually want to see it more often or not, but if this is not possible then we can just continue that way.

Suggestions are welcome and a lot of them are offered on the forum from the members. Some are good and others might not be the best, but they should all be allowed to drop their suggestions.

I for one would like to see a captcha addition to the forum and it would be of great benefit.

Why do you want a captcha?
Any specific reason?
I personally don't want it, I fill it's of no use.
It's still my opinion though.

Re: No Captcha

Since privacy is Utopia's top priority, I don't see any reason for them to add a captcha. I believe we need to be aware that every process has benefits and drawbacks. Some captcha services may lessen the anonymity of this forum.

The Captcha option can somehow be problematic for some people but it does not complicate or reduce the privacy level of the forum if the a service that provided for company that doesnt support Cloudflare.

Re: No Captcha

Yea I actually skipped to ask this question. Yest guys when I was registering to join in on this Forum Utopia p2p I actually noticed that I wasn't demanded to pass a captcha test as I would have on other platforms, I actually find this convenient.

You could find it convenient, but captcha has a purpose of verifying those who plan to register to ensure that they are not bots.

If bots are allowed to register at will, they can spam the forum a lot and reduce the quality of discussions.
