We should exercise caution if someone messages us out of the blue and asks us to invest in their cryptocurrency project or take part in a trading competition. Before investing any money, it is critical to confirm their identification and conduct your own research.

Doing extensive research on the project, or the person behind any cryptocurrency before investing in it or using any services related to cryptocurrencies. If the project doesn't have reputable websites, online communities, CMC listing, and social media accounts it's a huge red flag.

One thing to also notice is that scammer always promises opportunity, unrealistic profits, or guaranteed returns. We need to always be wary of anyone offering a guaranteed profit when the crypto market is volatile in nature.

Another thing is to always use only reputable and trusted crypto exchanges like Crypton, Binance, or Kucoin for buying and selling cryptocurrencies. It may also be a means of receiving payment because scammers at point ask people to create an account on the scam exchange created by them just to fool their victim.

The best way I don’t bother about scam is because am on Utopia P2P forum and I have strongly been convinced that utopia does not and cannot work with scam Projects. Enough knowledge to guide everyone through to avoid scam is always pointed out in Boards and Sub boards by users which may be based on Previous Experience with other exchange or forums

The authorities would not be of much help in cases of a cryptocurrency scam and would not act on it if it is not a high profile scam attempt
It is still worthy to try and report if you are in that situation and hope something is done.

The one potential ray of hope is that these scams may become less attractive (or at least less profitable) as major coins such as Bitcoin and Ethereum drop in value like they’ve been doing over the past few months. Of course, the crash does come at the expense of companies that actually operate within the law as well.

Major exchanges have laid off hefty portions of their workforce, some coins have dropped nearly to zero, and some investors have been, at points, left unable to withdraw their funds. (In one case, allegedly thanks to someone nicknamed “Bitcoin Jesus.”)

Utopia to the best of my knowledge would not support scams but in crypto you should never trust, always verify. This requires you verify every new platform you are exposed to and ensure they are not scammers.
Utopia would not scam you but another platform you trust can.

Am still looking out for the means this scammers can’t generate just to reap others of their coins, I don’t download anything from any website am not sure of. Because they put in extra work to look real. It’s left for crypto users to trade within the cryptocurrency limits and not off limits to unknown websites

They actually have different means of reaping people out of their fund and perhaps, mostly go after your mail where your recovery mail is. I will advice us all to be careful of most site that requires your personal data.
