Ten members of a criminal organization that engaged in the smuggling of gold and other precious goods as well as money laundering activities were detained in the early hours of June 15, 2023, as a result of a joint operation by law enforcement agencies in Italy, Germany, and Switzerland. A complex money laundering scheme across Europe is allegedly used by the network to launder over 15 million euros in total. Investigators in Zurich came across a room that had been transformed into an illegal foundry where gold was melted to conceal its illicit origin.

This crazy, but what's meant by gold trafficking why not buy it out as a property, I am more familiar with human trafficking, I don't know that gold also can be trafficked.
