Typically, an open-source project is distributed under an open-source license such as the GNU General Public License (GPL), the MIT License, or the Apache License. These licenses establish standard terms and conditions for use and allow others to freely share and modify the program.
Another way is source code will be available to the public: The source code of an open-source project must be made available to the public for examination, modification, and dissemination.
I think at this point we need to organize webinars on how to check for open-source projects and closed-source projects. Many people do not know how to check it or how it works.
There's honestly no point in that. As a cryptocurrency user, you are suppose to know the difference between open source and closed source and also be able to identify them regardless if you are a newbie or not.

The problem I would say this days is not about teaching the newbies is about the fact that many of the newbies right now are virtually refusing to work.

You are right and in some cases they might actually not know what they are missing or the value of what the skills is all about. Its might also occur that you charge them and they are looking at the charges as a kind of fraud.

While demanding anything we need to understand that the team is putting in a lot of work to make this project work and we need to give them enough time to grow and develop the exchange to what we will like it to be.

Open source is so important, there are so many cryptocurrencies users who do not care about open or closed source, but they have to. Atomic wallet was hacked with the cause yet unknown, it is closed source so everyone has to wait for Atomic wallet to give an update, if it was open source the reason would be known already.

Well there's actually a big price on compromising a close source project and it demands alot of hard work, specify skills and knowledge but the open source is as mentioned above. Its always good to always go for a well secured source project.

It demands hardwork to compromise any project, open source or closed source, many times that projects get compromised it is from an internal member of the team, if it is in an open source source project and a code that can steal is put in it, it will be seen, but in a closed source project people will download it and fall for scam.

I hardly think this is important in this thread, I think we should try to give more things that are very important in a particular topic and would help the topic grow.
