A new version of UAM (Utopia Alternative Miner) 1.2.701 contains stability and security fixes.
In this updated version, we've ensured swifter integration of new peers into the network, leading to a more consistent and predictable mining process. Furthermore, we've enhanced our system with DoS protection to guard against various types of attacks that could potentially decrease network performance or increase traffic utilization for users.
All miners participating are strongly advised to update UAM software on their servers to the latest version as soon as possible to ensure proper functioning of the network. Please complete the update to avoid mining process interruption. The minimal required version for mining will be increased to 1.2.701 on 16th of January, 2024.

In this version, errors in the algorithm for discarding expired or erroneous packets have been fixed. The mechanism for selecting and verifying peers has also been improved. After upgrading the network with the new version of UAM, an increase in overall Utopia network bandwidth and a reduction in node load are expected.
All miners participating are strongly advised to update UAM software on their servers to the latest version as soon as possible to ensure proper functioning of the network. Please complete the update to avoid mining process interruption. The minimal required version for mining will be increased to 1.2.635 on 25th of November, 2023.

A new version of UAM (Utopia Alternative Miner) 1.2.411 contains important network routing stability updates.
New features have been implemented in the algorithm for discarding circulating packets. An updated routing mechanism implemented will fix the issue of offline contacts being marked as online.
All miners participating are strongly advised to update UAM software on their servers to the latest version as soon as possible to ensure proper functioning of the network. Please complete the update to avoid mining process interruption. The minimal required version for mining will be increased to 1.2.411 on 29th of May, 2023.

While the program has been successful so far and rewards have been periodically distributed, we have recently noticed a significant number of weak nodes appearing running Utopia. This has led to issues with the network and could potentially result in dishonest participation that could affect the overall performance of the Utopia ecosystem.
Therefore, we are taking immediate action to address this issue by fixing both the routing and Airdrop reward payout terms to eliminate the negative impact that these weak nodes may have on the network. We are grateful for this stress test of Utopia network, as it enables us to improve the resistance and robustness of the system to any external influence, intentional or not.

Utopia decentralized P2P ecosystem announces an increase in the minimum staking balance for mining nodes, from 32 CRP to 64 CRP per each mining thread. This change is being implemented as a support action for the Utopia ecosystem and to make the infrastructure more stable and mature. Effective from 01.03.2023, this change will go live, bringing a new level of stability to the Utopia network.
Utopia is a decentralized all-in-one messenger toolkit that utilizes a unique consensus algorithm and rewards its users for providing network resources. The network's infrastructure is supported by a community of validators, also known as mining nodes, who keep a minimum balance of CRP, Utopia's native cryptocurrency, in order to participate in the network's consensus process and earn rewards.

New uptime control and peer quality algorithms were implemented to dramatically decrease mining malpractice and increase network routing stability and available bandwidth.

On March, 18th, 2022 Utopia will activate a new treasury mechanism called 'Crypton 2.0' to prevent mining malpractice and support Crypton value.
After update is applied, Utopia network will support mass participation of miners, each with a minimum required stack of at least 32 CRP on balance per thread. Each healthy network miner's thread will be credited according to the current reward schedule.
Kindly note, the minimum balance per thread is adjustable amount and can be increased or decreased according to network conditions.
To support the possibility of creating pools and community managed mining processes Utopia will announce a new feature that will allow participants to temporary delegate Cryptons to a miner without losing the control over the funds. The feature is planned to go live in 2nd quarter of 2022 along with other updates.
The latest update of Utopia and UAM also includes improved PSR and anti-DPI mechanisms. Both updates will result in less traffic usage and bypassing Deep Packet Inspection systems found in many Internet Service Providers which block access to certain protocols or applications.
New version of Utopia provides a major upgrade to built-in P2P network packet forwarding. Faster and more reliable tunneling feature allows smooth website loading within Utopia network. Due to severity of the changes made to the protocol, the upgrade is not backward compatible and you will need to update Utopia to access the new tunnels.

As of today (01/03/2022) the reward per block (issued every 15 minutes) is being reduced from 96 Cryptons to 48 Cryptons due to sufficient amount of network nodes and in order to support the exchange rate of CRP.
Multi-faceted and highly-professional approach to liquidity support and stable market rate of Crypton is well-organized with 3 main levers:
Adjustable amount of issued Cryptons per 15 minute block for regulating emission
Adjustable Proof-of-Stake Rate for storing Cryptons that can be positive or even negative if it's necessary for market rate stability
Adjustable fees settings for all paid services available within Utopia ecosystem
All of three adjustable settings listed above are currently controlled by Utopia development team but after implementation of decentralized referendum, self-governance and voting systems the full control of adjustable settings will be transferred to society.
Crypton's ideology and main priority is strived to complete anonymity and privacy protection to deliver the highest level of freedom, security and stability to its users.

I have only 2 miners working and it uses more than 100mbps. So it is not profitable to mine CRP.
Try to run only one instance and report back if the mining process is successfull. Possible your resources are getting bottlenecked to one or more race conditions (hdd i/o, network stability and latency, bandwidth, cpu affinity etc).
Please note that the successfull block processing log record in UAM means that the miner technically completed the mining process. The final decision on quality of the produced work is controlled by network consensus that is out of control of 1984 Group or your UAM node. Depending on the decision your work is accepted or not.
If Utopians want their messages and payments delivered fast, the bullet-proof distributed video and file hosting platform that feature equals to analogs owned by corporations, the consensus standard should be strict with no exceptions. Miners who shape their bandwidth to get more bots running to get more Cryptons have no future because they do not provide a space for the ecosystem growth.
On my Linux (Xubuntu) Utopia as a window is very laggy and sometimes it is not possible to use this messenger. And it lags a lot for some reason. Where can I address this problem?
If you have decent hardware, stable network and enough bandwidth for current network needs then no issues are expected.
This version has much more strict requirements to ip connectivity and bandwidth stability but has implemented a new PSR feature to save up to 10x of traffic. To use this feature, 95% of the network should support the PSR. As soon as the network is widely upgraded with the newest version of the bot, the bandwidth utilization for both client and UAM will be lowered several times providing traffic economy.
Right now only 1% of the network is upgraded. On 28th of January, 2022 all non-upgraded bots will stop mining.
